I don't think it's a good idea to try to attempt to give particular legal advice for each -- or any -- of the codecs provided here. And indeed, this is quite a non-trivial task. We will have a disclaimer on the main Restricted Formats page, and I think that's best. Still, I'm happy to leave this open for discussion.
