Tasks

From openSUSE-Community

[edit] For the Wiki

  • Redesign the site to (i) remove any MediaWiki ugliness, (ii) integrate a little more nicely with openSUSE.org. This includes:
    • Look like opensuse.org with a few stylistic changes (changes in colour?)
    • Change appearance of buttons on top.
    • Change Navigation Style
  • Pages that need to be written:
    • Participate
    • About:openSUSE-community.org
    • Sub-sections on Restricted_Formats (instructions for at least 10.0, 10.1)
    • Sub-sections on Package Sources (instructions for at least 10.0, 10.1)
    • Add Smart Mirror instructions on Package_Sources/Mirrors with a list of good mirrors
    • Add quick start/newbie guide with 1click installs for 3d/Codecs etc.
    • Howto on full-featured Amarok. no MP4 tagging; no postgresql support. Add guru+packman -> in amarok + amarok-xine
    • Amarok with MySQL for collection
    • workarounds of the whole w32codec-all; ffmpeg, etc
    • k3b mp3 support howto
    • For opensuse.org: page that explains properly what a repository is, what repository metadata is, etc. Useful info to steal: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2005-09/msg00768.html (see Pkgmgmt101)
    • reference+howto on gaim-beta
    • How to install and use the devolpment snashpots of KDE 4, by the buildesrvice (should go on opensuse.org. Done; see opensuse:KDE4.
  • Create interwiki link to opensuse.org, so that we can do easy linking, and the link doesn't show as an external link. Take link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interwiki_link if interwiki mapping to wikipedia was enabled (which is quite normal on MediaWiki wikis and this example works on opensuse.org) you could add the same link by using [[Wikipedia:Interwiki_link]] which would appear as a normal wiki link.
  • Start settings things up to make the wiki easily translatable
  • To Restricted_Formats, add: freetype, ktorrent, k3b
